Data Definition
Desktop
Auditor uses WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) to gather data
remotely from network PCs and servers. WMI defines thousands of
machine properties that can be remotely interrogated. Desktop
Auditor ships with a standard database structure and set of reports
that provide commonly required information - software installed,
hardware, operating system and identification details, etc. However,
using the Data Definition utility, you can define any set of machine
properties that you would like to gather - for instance, you might
want to get the details of all CDROM drives installed on all
machines on the network. You can also specify any Registry
information you would like to gather from all machines. This utility
provides the power and flexibility to gather any information you
require about computers on the network. |
